First Annual Sunrise at Old Tucson Cross Country Trail Run:  a family-friendly running event on the historic grounds of Old Tucson Studios on Sunday morning, March 8, 2009. Sunrise at Old Tucson replaces the old Sundown at the Pass, nicknamed the “most awesome race in all of Arizona.” The race route will be on the dusty streets, horse trails, and dirt roads of Old Tucson Studios. Every participant receives free entry into Old Tucson Studios, trailside breakfast, and t-shirt. Discount pricing for additional tickets to Old Tucson will be available on site.

The Ultimate Tucson Course: The 4+ mile cross country trail race loops throughout the dusty streets, horse trails, and desert terrain of Old Tucson Studios, site of some of the greatest movies of all time.

The 1 mile Cowboy Costume and Kid’s Run is designed to promote daily exercise. Cowboy costumes, children, and strollers are all welcome.

Beneficiaries: A portion of proceeds goes to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation and Team Duke. After John Wayne’s own heroic battle with cancer, his family established the John Wayne Cancer Foundation to advance the fight against the illness.

Sponsors and Partners: Thanks to Old Tucson Studios, the Running Shop, and the TriFest ’09 Conference and Expo, hosted by TriSports at the Tucson Convention Center on March 7-9, 2009.
