OLD TUCSON STUDIOS IS NOW A “PROPERTY” ON THE NEW JOHN WAYNE COLLECTOR’S EDITION MONOPOLY BOARD GAME
(Old Tucson Studios-Tucson, AZ)—Last Fall, Old Tucson Studios was contacted by John Wayne Enterprises and asked to participate in the production of its latest venture, a John Wayne Collector’s Edition Monopoly Board game. The board game features locations and personal property that were significant in the movie star’s professional and personal life. Hoping to make the cut, we submitted a photo of the “Duke” on the set of Rio Bravo, one of the four movies Wayne shot here at OTS.

We are proud to say that Old Tucson Studios is now an official “property” on the board game. The property card describes Old Tucson Studios as “still today one of the most historic filming locations and the site of several films featuring John Wayne.” The card goes on to say that “with each film, set buildings were added, including a saloon, bank building, doctor’s office, hotel, cantina, and ranch house.”
Other properties include Wayne’s famous yacht, “Wild Goose” and another famous Wayne movie location Monument Valley. Among the game’s collectible pewter tokens is a tiny replica of the Duke’s director chair. The Board game is now for sale online and at retail stores.
