RUSSIAN MUSIC FILM SET FOR PRODUCTION
AT OLD TUCSON STUDIOS
Cast and crew to be at Old Tucson Studios April 28-29, Mescal April 30 and May 1

(TUCSON, AZ) Russian rock group, Diskoteka Avaria, will be at Old Tucson Studios April 28-29 filming a 10-minute film featuring the band members. A take-off on "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" the film is a unique juxtaposition between Russian music and American western scenery. The film will be shot at both Old Tucson Studios and Mescal, a sister site located near Benson. The script, entitled "4 Guys" follows the characters Timofeev, Serov, Ryzhov and Igor into an old west teeming with murder, greed, lust, an immoral preacher and even a hanging.
Visitors will be able to watch the filming during the two production days in Old Tucson Studios.

"This will be a particularly interesting shoot for spectators," says Frances Causey, film manager, Old Tucson Studios. "The production includes a large cast of extras and lots of stunts and highly visual scenes. Plus, while the extras and production crew will be local, the principle actors and production team are from Russia. I
don't believe we've ever had a film crew quite like this at Old Tucson Studios."

Old Tucson Studios beat out a global set of contenders for this international production.  It was selected over Andalucia, Spain, site of more than 900 films including the original "The Good, the Bad and The Ugly."  "We looked at several locations for our film," said Alexander Yurchikov, producer, Pantera Productions. "We selected Old Tucson Studios and Mescal over Spain because of the ideal set theme and location in the middle of the desert away from modern visuals. We
also appreciated the professionalism of the staff and the proximity to a major
city with readily accessible crew talent." Old Tucson Studios is providing produc-
tion support including stunt coordination, local casting, on-site logistics and crew development. Causey will serve as Unit Production Manager and has been working to ensure all aspects of the filming are on track.

"4 Guys" is the first in a line of productions that will occur at Old Tucson Studios. In May, the set will be site of the comedy film, "Mad, Mad Wagon Party."  Scouts also have been on the set and at Mescal for a major studio film expected to begin production in early summer.
